Encaustic Mixed Media: Alcohol Ink, Shellac & More
TThis workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to expand their encaustic practice by incorporating mixed media such as alcohol inks, oil paint or pastels, and drawing or painting techniques. We’ll also explore shellac burning to create beautiful, organic and unpredictable forms within the wax.
Over the three-hour session, I’ll explain and demonstrate a range of mixed media techniques before guiding you as you work on your own piece. There will be plenty of time to experiment, layer, and discover how different materials interact with encaustic. This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as artists looking to push their practice further. Please note however, basic encaustic knowledge or completion of a Encaustic Basics workshop is a pre requisite for this session.
Basic materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring along any personal materials you’d like to incorporate — and if you’re unsure what might work, feel free to reach out beforehand and I’m very happy to discuss ideas and possibilities.
