Encaustic Basics
This introductory workshop offers a hands-on introduction to working with encaustic paint. We’ll cover the basics of the medium, including what it’s made of, safe working practices, tools, substrates, fusing techniques, and where to source materials.
Over the three-hour session, I’ll explain and demonstrate key techniques and then guide you as you work on your own piece, giving you time to experiment and build confidence with the process. The workshop is suitable for beginners and artists who are curious about exploring a new medium.
Basic materials are provided. You’re welcome to bring along any personal materials you’d like to experiment with — and if you’re unsure what might work, feel free to reach out before hand, I’m very happy to discuss ideas and possibilities.
